Enid V. Hatton, a resident of Fairfield, Connecticut, is a graduate of Boston College and attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. She received her Masters Degree in Medical Illustration at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Enid pursued a highly acclaimed career as one of the top medical illustrators in the United States. Her work includes illustrations for medical journals and texts as well as a wide variety of national and international exhibitions that combine her artistic and creative talents with her exceptional knowledge of science and medicine. She has won awards from the Society of Illustrators, NY, Communication Arts Annual, Print’s Regional Design Annual, the RX Club, and The Association of Medical Illustrators. She has taught art on both the undergraduate and graduate levels, has served on the Society of Illustrator’s Joint Ethics Committee in NY and been an active contributor to the production of the Medical Illustrator’s annual sourcebook.
In 2008, Enid was commissioned by Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut to paint a portrait of John Barone, the first Provost of the University. The Portrait hangs in the Barone Campus Center at the University.
In 2009, Enid was awarded the time-honored the Anna Hyatt Huntington Bronze Horse Head in recognition of her oil on canvas “Moonlight Paddle Over Long Pond” which won “Best painting in Show” at the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (CLWAC) Spring Exhibit in NYC.
In 2016, Enid was commissioned by Fairfield University to paint a portrait of Rev.Jeffrey von Arx, the eight president of Fairfield University. It hangs in Bellarmine at the University. The Portrait hangs in Bellermine Hall at the University.
In 2016 and 2018, Enid was commissioned by the Village of Greenport, NY to paint six historic
Paintings of Greenport, NY for the rounding boards of their Antique Carousel.
In addition to succeeding in these artistic endeavors, she was appointed to the U.S. Air Force Art Program by the office of the Secretary of the Air Force to be one of a selected group of artists to record the history of the USAF in art, indeed an honor. Her first assignment was the disaster left by hurricane Katrina.
